INTRODUCTION

The Anti-Terrorism Training Program developed by CPT is designed to assist local police departments in combating  radical Islamic terrorism. The Programs we offer provide specialized training for law enforcement personnel in combating terrorism and extremist activity.

In order to ensure our workshops and seminars deliver the most relevant and up-to-date information, terrorism-related topics are constantly researched and reviewed. Timely information is offered regarding pre-incident prevention, and interdiction training. Unless we can stop the terrorist before they execute their plans we have little chance of succeeding in this crucial battle.

The CPT Program has been proactively involved in anti-terrorism research and training since 2001. It is focused on providing first responders, support and administrative personnel with the information they need to understand the mind-set of the Islamic terrorist.

CPT focuses on the prevention of terrorism in the United States by providing the tools and body of knowledge necessary for state, local, and federal law enforcement officers to be aware and better understand, detect, deter, and investigate acts of terrorism in the United States by both international and domestic, or homegrown, terrorists 

While the CPT Program originally placed emphasis on the threat of foreign-inspired terrorism on American soil, the recent attacks in New York (Times Square bomber and the killings by Major Hassan) brought a new intensity to the Program’s research and training activities as regards home grown terrorism and self radicalization.  Accordingly CPT increased training offerings in domestic as well as foreign-inspired terrorism, addressing specific groups and organizations that may pose a danger to America. We have also identified an increase in violent acts linked to new Islamic groups and incorporated this aspect into the training curricula and research activities. CPT is committed to providing state, local, and federal law enforcement with the training necessary to interdict and prevent future acts of terrorism in America.
